The Signs of Society
The signs of society reflect our moral code and values. We can choose to honor God and Jesus or we can choose to ignore them. In the signs of society it tells a story of individuals choosing to live without God and by making this choice it has created a very dark, violent and dangerous world.
Today many individuals have a different set of moral values. They choose to leave God out of the equation. This is what the signs of society reflects. A broken society filled with broken individuals. But what does the Bible say? The Apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 3:2 in the last days there will be terrible times;
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. (NIV)
This scripture truly paints a chilling dark picture of end time society. Notice what the Apostle Paul says. It will be characterized by three loves; the love of self, the love of money, and the love of pleasure. And 2 Peter 3:3 says;
First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil ways. (NIV)
Again, we’re told society, those who choose to live without God, will follow their own evil ways. But wait, Matthew 24:12,13 states;
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. (NIV)
Notice what Matthew 24:12,13 says, because of the increase of wickedness. It’s undeniable! As the end times draw closer our society will be shattered. And if you take a step back now, you can already see the large cracks. Abortion, idol worship, lovers of money, lovers of self, lovers of pleasure. Many people have no regard for human life anymore! Drugs, gang wars, murders, abusive individuals, corruption in our government and even corruption within the churches.
Our society is falling apart! But there is hope. Matthew 24:12,13 also says, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Bible Prophecy cannot be changed. And as Christians it’s imperative for believers to know the signs and stay in the word of God.
Another point which must be considered in signs of society is Christian persecution and the falling away from Christianity. Jesus spoke of this in Matthew 24:9,10 which states;
Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other.
Jesus clearly tells us there will be persecution for followers of Christ. But we can gather more information by reading Luke 21:12-19 which states;
But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before Kings and governors, and all on account of my name. This will result in your being witnesses to them. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.
Obviously, this will be a dark time in our society but there is Hope. Jesus tells us not to worry beforehand how we’ll defend ourselves. He will provide the words and wisdom needed.
Although we are to know the signs, we’re not to worry over them. But we are to keep watch. And personally, I believe this helps remind Christians we must rely on Christ, offer his word to all, provide his teachings, to stand firm, and to pray continually.
I see and feel the signs are all around me. By knowing the signs it keeps me focus on God’s word and it helps keep me from falling away! It gives me Hope!
Do you see the signs in our society today? If you can’t try turning on your local news. Can you see signs there? Try reading your local newspaper. Can you see signs there? If you still can’t see signs in our society maybe it’s time to study and devote more time to Bible Prophecy.
These signs are a continuation of many more things to come ~
My pray for Christians or believers in Christ is to continuation growing in love & grace which is the seasoning the world don’t know neither can they buy it.
If Christians are angry bitter and critical what hope is there for the world?
The bible says we are defusing the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ every where ~ so the knowledge of Christ has a fragrance, how would you interpret that?

I believe you are misunderstanding my intention Pj. I’m not speaking from a place of anger or being critical. Merely stating the facts of our society today to what the Apostle Paul stated would happen toward the end of time. Our society is crumbling and it will get worse and Bible Prophecy tells us this. And as Christians we are to be aware of these signs but many Christians prefer to neglect the importance of Bible Prophecy and the signs.
The sweet fragrance of the Knowledge of Christ is an aroma we ALL should ensure we are emitting. But I believe this aroma comes by telling the truth about Christ’s ministry, his teachings, witnessing, and being honest with others. It’s displaying Christ in everything you do. Although there are so many negative/bad things out in our word (which I try to avoid reading or watching , we must focus on the positive ones everyday. Prayer is our strenght, accompanied with love and positive thinking.

Thanks for the post, great as always. I have a brother who lives in fear of the things that he sees in the news and reads in the paper. He is on a constant rant about what is happening in the Middle East. We should know, as Christians, that these are the days, it is obvious. I keep trying to let him know that as long as you have repented of your rebellion towards God and placed your trust in Jesus Christ as Savior these days should not surprise you but keep you in an expectant place awaiting His return.
